I have lived in Broome, in the beautiful Kimberley region of Australia for over 20 years now, for many of those years, working in the Pearling Industry during the 90's and 2000's. I was lucky enough to be involved in every aspect of pearling, shell seeding operations, x-rays, harvest and grading, learning along the way how the beautiful Australian South Sea pearls are created.
The Pinctada Maxima Pearl shell is the species of shell that grows these pearls, and I like to have this shell incorporated into some designs.
You can find me Saturday and Sunday mornings at the Broome Courthouse Markets, and during the full moon from April to October, at the Town Beach Staircase markets.
